Local level multi-hazard zonation of Nepal

چکیده
This study performs district and local administrative level multi-hazard zonation of Nepal. As multiple natural hazards are frequent, their losses enormous, maps can provide important insights before the occurrence so that effective countermeasures preparedness efforts be designed implemented. To this end, weightage-based Nepal is performed considering 27,482 independent hazard events. We considered 16 to perform zonation. The prepared in highlight south-eastern south-central depicts a higher compared with other regions country. However, local-level outlines highly scattered levels, even adjoining villages municipalities.

landslide also referred to as mass movement, slope failures, slope instability, and terrain instability is the mass movement, usually sudden, of soil and debris down a steep slope (Cruden, 1991). They are caused by a variety of factors such as heavy rains, earthquake ground shaking or geological forces. Different types of landslides move down slope at a wide range of speeds (Varnes, 1978). Most...
متن کاملLandslide Hazard Automated Zonation (LHAZ) system
The degree of hazard due to landslide in any region is difficult to assess manually. An automated system having capability to correlate causes contributing automated landslide hazard is expected to be an efficient alternative. The objective of this paper is to explain LHAZ (Landslide Hazard Automated Zonation) system, an automated system that has been developed to determine the intensity and ex...
متن کاملMulti-Criteria Evaluation Model for Desertification Hazard Zonation mapping Using GIS (Study Area: Trouti Watershed, Golestan, Iran)
Desertification is one of the major issues threatening human communities. Manymethods have been developed for assessment and mapping of desertification hazards. In thisresearch, multi-criteria evaluation method was used to investigate desertification process inTrouti watershed, Golestan Province, Iran. At the first step, major desertification factors weredetermined by doing field surveys. They ...
متن کاملLandslide Hazard Zonation Using Quantitative Methods in GIS
Landslides are major natural hazards which not only result in the loss of human life but also cause economic burden on the society. Therefore, it is essential to develop suitable models to evaluate the susceptibility of slope failures and their zonations. This paper scientifically assesses various methods of landslide susceptibility zonation in GIS environment. A comparative study of Weights of...
متن کاملBuilding Damage Hazard Zonation Using Fkcn and Idw Algorithm
The objective of this study is to create building damage hazard zonation area using fuzzy kohonen clustering network (FKCN) for physical parameter data clustering and inverse distance weighting (IDW) for data interpolation in Banda Aceh city, Indonesia. IDW algorithm is used alongside FKCN because of its simplicity. The physical parameter in this study consists of lithology, topographic zone an...
